1923 Peace Silver Dollar
Only U.S. Silver Dollar Struck to Commemorate Peace!
The Peace Silver Dollar was minted from 1921 to 1928 and then again in 1934 and 1935 to celebrate the end of World War I. These coins were designed by medalist Anthony de Francisci.
Peace Dollars contain over 3/4 troy ounces of 90 % silver. Liberty appears on the obverse in a tiara of light and a perched bald eagle appears on the reverse.
Very little amounts of Peace Dollars were ever struck. In fact, the amount of Peace Dollars minted make up less than half the number of Morgan Silver Dollars that were ever made.
